"March is Women’s History month and in celebration of the contribution that women have made to all forms of music and culture, Dazzle has put together a show of some of the great musicians who perform in the jazz realm in Denver.

This lovely evening of music will feature a rhythm section including the talented pianist Carmen Sandim, a native of Brazil who received her masters in jazz performance and pedagogy. The master improviser and performer Kim Bird will be playing upright bass and longtime Denver jazz drummer (who is also a percussionist in the Balinese Gamelan Orchestra) Jill Fredericksen will complete the trio.

The band will accompany four singers that are a mainstay of the Denver jazz scene.

Julie Monley performed for nearly ten years in America. After moving to Paris, France in 1986, she won the best vocalist prize at the 1987 “Jazz Festival de Vienne.” In 1995, she won second prize at “Tremplin Jazz du Val d’Oise.” In August 1998, Julie moved back to Denver with her family and is currently singing in various clubs and studying classical voice.

Myra Warren has been electrifying audiences with her vocal styling of Billie Holiday. Her unique warm and powerful voice produces some of the most stirring renditions of songs like Cry Me a River, Ain't Misbehavin, God Bless the Child, Skylark and more…

Jan Cleveland is a vocalist, musician and actress. She has performed in films, (including the Sundance Film Festival's 1995 award winner Mrs. Cohen's Life), regional theaters, and nightclubs throughout the United States, capping four successful years on east coast stages with the lead role in the New York hit musical I Still Believe in Love. Jazz has always been Jan's first passion and she has returned to Denver and is performing actively in the jazz scene.

Kristi Stice is a professional musician, vocalist and composer. In 2006, Ms. Stice performed with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and sang with Mark Wood of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. She received a degree in jazz vocals from the University of North Florida and returned to her home state of Colorado in 2010. She recorded and released an album of her own compositions titled, "Under the Willow" in 2013. She currently performs as a vocalist with Gypsy Swing Revue, a Parisian jazz band that released an album titled, “I Love Paris” in 2017.
