Tonight’s performances will benefit Music Appreciation Society (MAS). MAS is a Colorado non-profit which aims to provide an intimate “acoustic” listening experience, featuring multiple genres of music from jazz and classical to blues, folk, bluegrass and more. MAS also aims to provide family-friendly, educational, traditional and experimental music programming to the Denver area. With a legend such as pianist Purnell Steen leading the band you will constantly be entertained. Purnell Steen and his swinging Quintet, Le Jazz Machine, are favorites on the Jazz Festival circuit as well as the nightclub scene. The versatile and dynamic piano man and his band of Denver Local Jazz stars energize original takes on the music of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie and others.

Come celebrate world music with the Greg Tanner Harris ensemble from 7pm to 9pm. Get ready to dance to soulful music representative of West African, Highlife, Kpanlogo, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Haitian, Neo-Soul, Jazz, and Afro-Funk traditions.
Multi-Instrumentalist Greg Tanner Harris leads the "Greg Harris Vibe Quintet," and is a member of Bluegrass legend Pete Wernick's Flexigrass, hip-hop/jazz/soul group Future Jazz Project, New World Citizen Band, 9th & Lincoln Orchestra, and SuperCollider. Greg has a great interest in the West African Xylophone called the Gyil (pronounced JEE-lee), the national instrument of the Lobi and Dagara people of Ghana, Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa. He has performed with Baaba Maal, Aaron Bebe Sukura, SK Kakraba, as the musical director for Prudence Mabhena from Zimbabwe, and also does regular fundraising performances for the Whole Planet Foundation. He also plays an assortment of Frame Drums from around the world, exploring the Bodhran of Ireland and the Doyra of Uzbekistan.
